The most fearless of all Adarlen's assassins is only eighteen. Selena is an outstanding killer, able to survive in salt mines, where she burned hard, and try to escape from a place from which no one has yet managed to escape alive. In exchange for freedom, the king allows her to be his faithful defender, but this requires winning the competition. Thieves, assassins and warriors from all over the country will come together to get honors, a good pay and a chance to be free. But Selena has a significant advantage: she seems to have magic in her blood, and despite all Adarlen's laws, she intends to take advantage of this, because it is necessary for the suffering people to finally repel their oppressors. When out of the blue rivals begin to die a horrible death, Selena's struggle for freedom turns into a struggle for survival, in which she must overcome an unknown evil.
